After visiting the Met in NYC recently, I fell in love with this piece and wanted to learn from it by painting an “Apre” piece, or a copy in the original artist’s style. Anton Mauve painted his version circa 1880, and the design is no longer copyrighted, so I am free to share it with you! I have learned from it and enjoyed it in my home for a while, and it’s ready for a new collector to enjoy. This piece is painted in oils on an 11x14 linen panel and wired and ready to hang in a beautiful handcrafted golden frame.
